Create custom Space test scenarios
Our GNSS simulation software, SatGen, is not limited to the standard GNSS receiver restrictions of 1000 knots and/or 18,000 m, making it an ideal testing solution for ‘space qualified’ receivers. Simply build a trajectory using user-defined commands or upload an NMEA, KML or VBO File and SatGen will generate a GNSS scenario of that route.
SatGen can simulate any speed and any altitude up to geostationary orbit, with higher altitudes available on request. This provides simulations for a range of space scenarios including rocket launches, CubeSat deployments, satellites, and space probes.
Automated elevation mask to follow the true horizon
During simulations, the ‘true horizon’ elevation mask mode within SatGen continuously calculates where the horizon would appear when observed from each trajectory point and increases the number of visible satellites accordingly.
This is especially useful for space simulations when the horizon is very low and the number of visible satellites is higher than on the ground. For example, the horizon visible from the International Space Station is at around -20°.
